On Tuesday we were kindly invited along to Rowan Garden Centre to the wreath making workshop and it was such a lovely way to spend a morning and we will definitely be making this a Christmas tradition. The workshop was run by Annette who previously worked as a florist and has worked Rowan Garden Centre for quite a few years.
The 2 hour workshop started with us making the base for the wreath out of moss which you bind to a metal wreath with wire. Once secured, this is the base for your foliage. There is a vast selection to choose from but I went for a fairly minimalist look.
We then finished off decorating the wreath with pine cones, dried fruit and baubles – again there are lots of different options to choose from. Annette was there to guide us through each step and also to create a pretty bow for me 😛 Hot Drinks ☕️ mince pies 🥧 and stollen were served during the workshop 😋
At the end of the workshop Nic and I popped into the shop which sells a fantastic array of goodies including lots of Christmas decs! I challenge you to try and walk out empty handed 😛 I picked up a few Christmas decs, I just couldnt resist!
LHS pic: large tree cost £7.49 and the white medium trees cost £6.49 each (smaller trees I already owned)
RHS pic of the candle ring cost £4.99 – please not this does not include the black holder
Rowan is such a lovely indie garden centre, with fabulous knowledgeable staff, a brilliant shop and a gorgeous cafe with scenic views, we would highly recommend you give it a visit if you’re in the area or what to try some where new.
