Explore and get messy at Black Park!
Join us in Black Pines Camp for some fun in the woods! We have a variety of activities for your tot to go wild, including the mud kitchen, digging pit, water play, bug hunting, weaving, balancing and more.
What is Tots Go Wild all about?
Tots Go Wild is aimed at children aged 1-5 years (from when they can walk independently till they are in full-time education).
Tots Go Wild takes place on most Fridays during term time throughout the year. Morning sessions run from 10:00-11:30 and afternoon sessions run from 13:00-14:30. We stagger the release of our tickets in line with the start of each new school half-term.
There will be a themed activity each week, plus multiple other activity stations. The sessions are child-led, with the children being encouraged to choose what they would like to do to help them build on their self-esteem, confidence and independence. During October through to May we regularly have a fire.
You can casually book the date(s) you'd like to attend, or block book the full half-term (six sessions) to guarantee a place each week and receive a discount.
We go ahead in all weathers - unless deemed unsafe - so please dress appropriately!

Event Details
Discover giant bugs made of litter around Black Park! Come along with your family and friends to our FREE trail. Learn all about how to reduce, reuse, recycle and most importantly, why not to drop litter. Don’t be a litterbug!
The trail will be running from Friday 17th March to Sunday 16th April in conjunction with the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean 2023 campaign. The self-led trail will be around Black Park during usual car park opening hours, so you can turn up at any point when we’re open, no need to pre book! There will be directional signs out on display, or you can refer to the map and see if you can find all 8 different bugs. You can start the trail from any point around the lake.
A special thanks to Black Park Shed for their help in cutting the bug templates. To find out more information about them as a charitable organisation please visit: https://www.blackparkshed.org.uk
WHAT CAN I SEE ON THE TRAIL?
There will be a series of artworks constructed from litter collected from the Country Parks, in the shape of giant bugs, from bottle top beetles to water bottle spiders! There are a few new additions this year too! Will you find them all? There will also be interesting facts and information about recycling, the environment and how you can make a difference accompanying each sculpture.
WHERE DO I GO?
There will be directional signs around the site within the trail dates, so simply park in the Black Park car park and look out for our Litter Bug Trail signs. The route is roughly a 1 mile loop round the lake. Alternatively you can follow the map below:
THE GREAT BRITISH SPRING CLEAN
The Great British Spring Clean 2023 campaign is run by Keep Britain Tidy and is asking the public to pledge to collect a bag of litter this Spring to help the environment. Click here to join in and together we can make a difference! #LitterHeroes

This month's meeting of the Bucks Pottery & Sculpture Society will include a talk and demonstration by stone carver Freya Morris, who works in the Oxford area. Having originally studied art history, Freya then became interested in architectural history which lead to a 20 year career in building conservation. After taking up stone carving as a hobby, Freya has recently gone on to study this in more depth and is currently working with professional carver Alex Wenham. They have been involved in various conservation and restoration projects in Oxford and London.
The meeting will be held at Little Kingshill Village Hall, Windsor Lane, Little Kingshill, HP16 0DZ. Entry is free for BPSS members, £5 for visitors. See www.buckspotters.com for more information about the society.

Step out of the Museum and explore the local countryside and village with a Museum guide and discover how some of the local birds and wildlife found their way into the stories. Join Chiltern Rangers and Wycombe Museum to learn more about woodcutting, charcoal and the sawmills – and have a go yourself!
Understand more about coppicing and the making of charcoal, toast marshmallows on our fire in the grounds and use the charcoal to draw pictures of our beautiful trees. We will also explore the story of saw mills using objects from our chair-making collection to understand how the woods around Wycombe led to our most famous local industry.
Wycombe’s river, the river Wye, is the reason many of us are living in the town. Historically, its waters attracted people to the valley and by 1816, more than 30 mills were dotted along the Wye, grinding corn into flour, ‘fulling’ cloth, making paper, and sawing wood from the surrounding Chilterns’ woodland.
Need to know:
- Book a 75 minute slot to get hands on at Wycombe Museum!
- Suitable for families and individuals – under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
- This activity will take place at Wycombe Museum and involves charcoal, wood and gathering around a fire, so please dress for the weather and the activity!
- At Wycombe Museum there are toilets, a café and space to play in the grounds
