We had a lovely meal here last night for my mother in laws birthday. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. We had a lovely waitress who was very knowledgable and was very cheerful. The food was extremely tasty and at the end of the main they presented my mother in law with her dessert and written in white and dark chocolate it spelt out happy birthday on a wooden board. A very nice touch and it made my mother in law happy :) Reasonably priced given the quality of the food. I noticed that on a Monday they offer a 1/3 off steaks and you can take your own bottle of wine for £5 corkage, which would make for a good meal out. They also offer 2 course for £15 and 3 for £18 ( I think that was the prices). This is very good value although we didnt go for it as there wasnt a lot of choice. A nice grown up place to eat. Would recommend.

We ate at The Three Oaks last night for the first time and had a lovely evening. The food was top notch, definitely worth the money (unlike some places we've eaten at who seem to charge a lot because of their location!!) I think that the waiting staff were new as they made quite a few rookie mistakes but the manager was really good. The interior felt a bit more like a restaurant than a gastro pub (we tend to prefer more relaxed surroundings e.g. The Crown in Old Amersham) but still definitely worth going back as the food was so good.

The atmosphere and décor gives a feeling of quality, and clearly communicates “gastro pub”.  We have been to the restaurant on a number of occasions and every time, the service has been extremely impressive.  The waiting staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and seem to have an unusually good knowledge of the menu – providing help and advice when requested about the dishes including the cuts of meat, sauces, provenance of the ingredients etc.  The food itself could be characterised as high quality classic English in a modern style, full of flavour and very well cooked.  We have never had a below par experience there and we view it as the best pub / restaurant in Gerrards Cross / Chalfont St Peter.
