You really need to look at who you employ. Thin blonde girl was obviously having a bad day. She made sure everyone knew.

A few weeks ago we were looking for somewhere to eat and drink in Old Amersham and decided to give the Elephant and Castle a go. The pub has cosy log fires, lit candles everywhere and a great ambience. Athe back of the pub is a conservatory for diners with a view of their lovely garden. This will be a great beer garden for the summer! The food is very tasty and the menu is varied. We have been for Sunday lunch a few times and they offer 3-4 different meat roasts and a nut roast for vegetarians, which I really like.
We normally go with our 6months old son and 4 year old daughter, but tend to choose the less busy times, so we get the bigger tables. The service is very good and consistent and staff are attentive and very polite.
The Elephant and Castle ticks many boxes and attracts tourists, ramblers, local drinkers, families and younger people. So far we have only been for late lunches but I would definitely consider it for an evening out with friends.
