We went to The Crown in Old Amersham on Friday for my birthday with a group of friends and had a lovely evening. The food was delicious, the waiter attentive, plus we got 10% off the bill with the loyalty card (someone posted about it a while back on here – it's free to get and you get 10% off food at The Crown in Old Amersham, The Greyhound in CSP etc) which made it a very reasonable night out. We love this place and will definitely be back.

We randomly went to The Crown on Monday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was all a bit last minute as we hadn't been organised to book anything :) It's the first time that we've eaten there and we were really impressed. You can either eat in the bar area or in the restaurant. We opted for the restaurant which is small & cosy with a real intimate feel to it – perfect for a romantic meal or small gathering with friends. They offer 2 course for £28 or 3 course for £32 – good value for money given the quality of the food. The food was absolutely delicious and all in all a perfect evening. We were really lucky to get a table without a reservation as it was a Monday night (but still fairly busy) so I would definitely recommend booking. Do give it a try, I'm really happy that we found it and will definitely be back there again very soon! PS I'm not sure how child friendly it would be. I didn't notice a children's menu (but I wasnt really looking :)). It maybe ok in the daytime as there is an area to sit outside but wouldn't be my first choice to take the children
