Sarah Cooke is the owner of Halia Rose – a stylish, baby-safe jewellery collection for busy mums and active women. She has two young children and shares her Special Places with us.

Wendover Woods with its Gruffalo Trail is a firm favourite for us. I have two young children so a lovely walk through the “deep dark woods” followed by a picnic or a drink at the cute little café which also serves delicious snacks is a fun way to spend a day. There is also a great wooden play area and lots of walks for us to explore and seek out mini beasts!

Champneys is a lovely place for a relaxing staycation – close to home so my husband and I we can maximise our break away but with little phone reception, beautiful scenery and a peaceful environment you feel a million miles away. The food is also wonderful!

Borough Market has always been a favourite place to seek out and taste new flavours and foodie bits. I love to support small businesses so not only is it a fun (and sometimes indulgent!) way to have lunch but it’s great knowing I’m buying from independent producers.

Rickmansworth Aquadrome – if the weather is good, we love nothing more than going for a walk or getting on the bikes. The path round the reservoir is nice and smooth which makes it easy for little ones to navigate plus there’s always lots to see from the swans and geese to the water-sports activities, so it’s also fun for a game of eye-spy! There’s a lovely café which serves beautiful (and healthy!) homemade food plus delicious fresh juices and great coffee, so there’s something for all the family!

Berkhamsted – I’ve recently moved back after living in London and overseas but still love the vibrant market town which has grown a lot since I last lived here (as a teenager!) There are some great independent shops plus restaurants both for date nights and family meals as well as some lovely local coffee shops (perfect for a quick break or to do some work without the home distractions!) My favourite Berko coffee shops are Black Goo in Home & Colonial – they do delicious brunches and cakes (and t’s always lovely to browse all the antiques and curios in the shop on the way to the cafe!) Others favourites include Fred & Ginger and I Love Food are great for a work space and also offer delicious food and drinks. Restaurant wise, Giggling Squid has some of the most authentic tasting Thai food I have eaten in England (I used to live in Asia so like to think I know my Asian flavours!) and the Kings Arms is a great family-friendly gastro pub.

Berners Street Tavern – the brunch is truly scrumptious! Set in a beautiful room which feels like a mix between an art gallery and a library in an old stately home, this is definitely a special place!
