SPECIAL PLACES

PLAYBALL SOUTH BUCKS

Knoll House Hotel, Studland Bay, Dorset

Being by the coast is one of my passions. A favourite place is the family-run Knoll House Hotel, Studland Bay, Dorset. It’s a step back into the 1930s and Enid Blyton country. As a family we frequently visit the hotel and really enjoy the traditional hospitality and beautiful National Trust beaches. Swanage is a nearby traditional seaside town. JoanneSpecialPlaces2Number 90 Bar, East London

I love exploring new places and experiencing urban art such as the graffiti below. One place I recently visited was a funky, warehouse bar in East London, Number 90 Bar, www.number90bar.co.uk just across the canal from the Olympic Village.

JoanneSpecialPlaces4The Olympic Village, London

The Olympic Village is a great day out for adults & kids – there’s a funfair, climbing wall, fountains, playgrounds, the UK’s largest urban beach, swimming at the Aquatics Centre, boat trips along the canal and of course a very large shopping centre just over the bridge! JoanneOlympicParkKeeping Active

Being a sports coach, I love being active and there’s no better way to unwind than a cycle to Common Wood, a swim at the Wycombe Rye lido or the Black Park 5k fun run every Saturday morning. I love the buzz, excitement and sense of achievement that runners of all ages share as they cross the finishing line. It also has a great Go Ape centre which is perfect for birthday parties.

JoanneSpecialPlaces6The Wilderness Festival, Oxford

Running your own business can become all-consuming so it’s important to take time out as a family – the Wilderness Festival, Oxford is the perfect way to chill, listen to music, try new food & drink, watch street theater & performing art, make a flower garland or carve your own bow & arrow! There’s so much to do for everyone. Website: www.wildernessfestival.com

JoanneSpecialPlaces8I love adventure and visiting new places. We have recently bought a campervan and look forward to exploring even more great outdoor places….

Playball not only teaches the base skills for various ball sports but is a very creative program that teaches children the love of being active through the exploration of movement. As teachers, we are constantly learning and I find that it is the children we teach who provide the greatest inspiration.

Joanne runs the successful franchise: Playball South Bucks with weekly classes in Amersham, Beaconsfield, Chalfont St Giles and Wycombe. Classes start Monday 14th September.
