Bring the whole family to celebrate Roald Dahl’s birthday this Saturday (14th September 2019)! There’s no better time to head to the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden than for the world-famous storyteller’s big day. There’s plenty to keep the kids from age 5 to 12 entertained – explore the galleries, peek inside Roald Dahl’s Writing Hut, and join in with special James and the Giant Peach activities.

Pick up a trail and follow the clues around the Museum, finding out fascinating facts as you go. Bump into the roving musician Owen, and help him create a PEACHY song especially for Roald Dahl’s birthday. See the illustrations from the first ever edition of James and the Giant Peach and join in with some up-beat Roald Dahl storytelling throughout the day. Tick off all of the ’13 Ways to be Brave at the Museum’ (including pulling a Matilda power pose and hunting for bugs!), and make a bug out of craft materials to add to our giant PEACH – all included with Museum admission.

If you fancy adding some extra-special touches to your day, you can book onto one of our Roald Dahl Day activities. Join in with the BRICKLIVE build and help assemble a giant PEACH of a mosaic using over 24,000 toy bricks, peek behind the scenes on an archive tour to get close to Roald Dahl’s letters and manuscripts, or head out of the Museum with a guide to explore Roald Dahl Country on a walk in the footsteps of the master storyteller.
