Local mum Jenny, recently took her family to Woodoaks Tea Shack located in Maple Cross. Jenny shares her experience with us here…..
Having recently heard about the Woodoaks Tea Shack , we decided to head there for our Sunday walk, with the selling point to the children that there would be a nice treat at the end 🙂 The turning to the Tea Shack off the A412 could be easily missed and is located next to the Maple Cross Roundabout (if coming from Denham direction towards Rickmansworth it is just before the roundabout sign).
There is plenty of parking in front of the Tea Shack and located next door is the Creative Juices Brewing Company which currently closed due to the Coronavirus looks a really interesting place to come back and visit (without the kids) another time 😉
With a brief look at our OS map we found a good choice of walking options varying from a 1 mile woodland loop to the 4.5 mile circular which we chose. We found the walk really easy to navigate, pretty & varied landscape and even though we passed a few people it was not at all busy.
Making it back to the Tea Shack at the end tired and thirsty we enjoyed some well earned toasted sandwiches (£5 each) and very tasty ice creams (£2.50 for 1 large scoop with a cone). The food is simple, tasty and reasonably priced. Our first lunch out since the lockdown was throughly enjoyed by all. Due to covid we were not able to sit on their benches but there was still plenty of space to settle down on a blanket and eat our lunch. The garden and seating area will be open from 4th July and I am sure they will also be running a bigger menu.
We will definitely be going back again.
Woodoaks Tea Shack is open on Saturday & Sunday from Noon until 4pm for takeaway orders only. Contactless payments only.
