Last week in half term (May 2021) we booked ringos at Denham Waterski Club. The kids had been to a ringos party previously so we knew we were in for a fun morning.

The ringos are large covered, inflatable rings with hand grips that are towed behind a speedboat and they are suitable for all ages, making it perfect for a family outing.

Due to HS2, there is quite a bit of construction work taking place around the area. The entrance to the club used to be on the RHS just off the  A412 coming from the A40 (Uxbridge / GX area). The entrance is now further along on the RHS so you now need to carry on for a few minutes and there is a sign to the rights for Denham Waterski Club – it looks like you are entering a building site but it is in fact the entrance to the club. To get to the clubhouse drive through the HS2 site and along the track parallel to the lake and turn right at the end – you will see a brand new clubhouse and ample parking. The club operates from a secluded and privately owned woodland site, on a sheltered 20-acre lake with full size championship slalom course. The log clubhouse enjoys a magnificent setting centrally located to overlook the lake, with large frontal sun-deck providing close action waterside viewing.

Upon arriving, we were met by the friendly staff and were shown where the changing rooms are.  Wetsuits are available to hire (for a very reasonable £3), and the children were kitted out with buoyancy aids and protective head gear.

The ringo ride lasts for 12 minutes and are in pairs. The speed boat whizz’s about the lake and you can control the speed with hand gestures 😉 The ride is punctuated by riders falling off the ringo into the water which the children loved!

We had taken a packed lunch with us in the hope that we would sit out and enjoy the lake view but we unfortunately managed to book the only day in half term when it rained 😉 We therefore ate inside the club house which is a fantastic facility!

A brilliant morning out – all of the children would happily go back tomorrow! I imagine we will book again for the summer and hopefully the weather will be on our side so we can enjoy the lake view. This would make a great kids party idea (check out party package info here) or a fab gift experience – they also offer water skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding and open water swimming.

COST: Non-members / guests can pre book up to 3 days ahead. It costs £32 for 12 minutes (per pair) and all equipment and helmets are provided. Prices correct as of July 2022.
