The lowdown:

A few weeks ago we went to Puttshack in Westfield; it’s mini golf with a difference ? It uses technology which enables automatic point scoring, leader-boards, and intuitive gameplay; similar to the point scoring at Top Golf but here you have to walk the course ? Puttshack comprises of four courses of nine holes; each one a rich immersive experience – inspired by both arcade and fairground games. One of the holes is modelled on a giant pinball machine, where the ball activates lights and sounds in order to rack up high scores. Another hole has an interactive quiz element to it.

We booked to go at 11am and surprisingly it was relatively quiet despite being half term but it did seem to be filling up as we left. There are a few courses so we didn’t have to queue, also helped by the fact that as soon as you place your ball down to tee off, you have 60 seconds to complete the round before you time out ( plenty of time) so it keeps the game moving and prevents people taking ages on each hole. Although we were allotted 50 minutes for 1 game we were done and dusted in 20 minutes so the fun is over pretty quick. If we go again, I would book 2 games and hope they had a special on to reduce the price ? I noticed on their face book they have a 2 for 1 offer but sadly this wasn’t valid in half term so worth keeping an eye out on their social media pages for offers. It was really good fun and definitely something we will do again.

Birthday parties:

I noticed that they offer birthday parties too which is a great alternative to bowling or top golf. Puttshack kids parties cost £20 per child and include a dedicated Course Captain to look after and entertain the kids throughout the party, a round of super-tech mini golf, food and drink in the dining area. Plus all the little one will be rewarded for their perfect putting with a certificate, with the winner taking home a special Puttshack medal! Find out more here

Bear in mind the parking is expensive at Westfield , so if going with friends try and car pool. It cost me £8.50 as we stayed over 2 hours ( you can stay for up to 24 hours for this price, sadly the kids weren’t very cooperative when it came to me wanting to go shopping ? so after lunch we looked in a few shops and then left).

As we went in the day time and mid week we were charged off peak prices so the cost for the 4 of us was £27 ( off peak adult £7.50 (normally £12.50), 7-12 year old £6.50). Its worth checking their Facebook page for special offers as I spied a 2 for 1 offer ( unfortunately not valid in half term). Off-peak tee times: All day Mon & Tues, Weds – Fri before 5pm, and Sun after 6pm

Puttshack is located outside the White City Westfield shopping centre in the brand new square, just opposite of John Lewis. We parked in the John Lewis car park. Driving from the Chalfonts is easy as it’s straight down the A40. If travelling by tube, Closest station is Wood Lane, but they’re not far from White City, Shepherd’s Bush, Shepherd’s Bush Market and Shepherd’s Bush National Rail.

Worth noting:

Under 18s are welcome in the venue during the following times: Sun-Thurs until 7pm (last tee time 6pm), Fri-Sat until 5pm (last tee time 4pm). Outside of these hours, Puttshack is an 18+ venue.
