At Chiltern Chatter HQ, we love all things local ☺, so we were excited to hear about a budding new company that’s just launched called Pixie & Jack. The founder, Sandra Jones is from Little Chalfont and has worked for many years producing beautiful baby linens for John Lewis, Harrods and other leading independent stores. Here we get a sneak peek into Pixie & Jack.

Name: Sandra Jones

Company: Pixie & Jack Ltd

Sum up your business in a sentence:
Bedding and towels for babies that are beautifully made and designed to last

When did you start your business?
Pixie & Jack launched in October 2013 but it was at least a year of hard work to get there.

What & who inspires you?
It is always textiles that I find inspiring, the quality of the fabrics, the colours, textures and how they all work together. This sparks my imagination to create.

What sets you apart from the others?
I manufacture in the UK. Not many people do. This gives me total control over all the making up processes from end it end. Secondly I am passionate about creating not only beautiful products but ones that work for mums too. I make sure all my fabrics are easy to wash, wear well and really last.

What did you do before setting up your business and why did you set it up?
I owned and ran another linens company, Soft Options which was very successful for 30 years. We made the same type of products as Pixie & Jack but sold them into retail stores. Creating Pixie & Jack as an online business gives me the opportunity to bring my designs directly to the public at better prices. Plus I do not have to compromise on quality at all.

What’s the best things about running your own business?
Freedom – you dance to your own tune.

Your favourite product & why
I love all my products, it’s really hard to choose between them but if pushed my current favourite is the Supersoft bubble fleece edged in polka dots – so soft and cuddly plus the dots add a touch of fun. Although the “Wild Things” animal print range is fabulous too…

Your greatest business tip?
Always be yourself.

If you could go back, would you do anything differently? If so, what and why?
No – it is all a learning experience – the good and the bad.

SandraPJHow do you see your company growing in the future?
Solidly – I sincerely hope!
