PICK YOUR OWN FRUIT & VEG

This is a great day out with the kids, especially if it’s sunny ☺. Ours absolutely loved our family outing to pick our own fruit. Plus if you’ve got a fussy eater who doesn’t like fruit & veggies, this may encourage them to try something new when they’ve picked it themselves ☺

Pick your own isn’t just about strawberries though… you can buy a wide selection of fruit and veg from larger PYO farms such as raspberries, peas, beans, sweetcorn, plums so there really is something for everyone.

We’ve done a bit of research (thanks to everyone that sent us suggestions – your help is appreciated) on places locally – Here’s the low down on where to go:

PETERLEY MANOR FARM, PRESTWOOD

The Pick Your Own starts in mid June with strawberries and gooseberries and runs right through to the end of October with autumn raspberries and various vegetables.

Fruit & veg on offer include: strawberries, raspberries, broad beans, gooseberries, currants, plums, apples, runner beans, peas, beetroot, carrots, blueberries and cobnuts.

BULLSCROFT FARM, CHORLEYWOOD

Strawberry picking and also ready picked, fresh fruit for sale at the kiosk. See website for up to date information on the amount of fruit left and times of opening.

COPAS FARM, IVER

Pick your own fruit & veg – strawberries, asparagus, gooseberries, spinach, broad beans, apples, sweetcorn, cherries and more!
There are also plenty of produce and other goodies in the Farm Shops. This includes ready-picked and frozen fruits and vegetables, jams and chutney, local honey, eggs and our own Copas Farms Apple Juice.

GROVE FARM, IVINGHOE

Grove Farm has a wide range of produce on offer to pick, with over 30 different fruits and vegetables during the season.
On the Grove Farm website there is a guide for approximate availability and timings of fruit and vegetables coming up in the season.
