This is a great day out, especially if it’s sunny. Our kids absolutely love our family outings to pick our own fruit.

Things are a bit different this year due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, some farms require pre-booking, no picnics allowed, one way systems and other restrictions, so make sure you check with the farms before you go. Under current regulations the farms are open for essential food retail, not a leisure activity or social visit with friends

Pick your own isn’t just about strawberries though… you can buy a wide selection of fruit and veg from larger PYO farms such as raspberries, peas, beans, sweetcorn, plums and local produce from their onsite farm shops.

Here’s the low down of local places where you can PYO:

PETERLEY MANOR FARM, PRESTWOOD

The Pick Your Own will unfortunately not be opening this summer.

However the farm shop and plant nursery are open with social distancing in place. New for summer 2020, the Strawberry Shack is open serving drinks and cakes to go, plus Peterley Picnics – afternoon teas and lunch hampers can be ordered online.
