Bucks County Museum are now a National Portfolio Organisation that has been awarded £100,000 funding per year from April 2018 – March 2022. This means they are recruiting for a number of part-time vacancies including a part-time (20 hours per week) Workforce Development Officer. The Officer will spend half of their time at the museum in Aylesbury and the other half at the Halton Resource Centre in Wendover.

This is a great opportunity for an individual with HR and volunteer development skills/interests to work with and develop an established staff team and a current team of 40 volunteers. Bucks County Museum was awarded Investors in Volunteers in June 2016 organised by a 2 year funded Volunteer Co-ordinator post, which finished in January 2017. Volunteering roles currently mainly center around supporting curatorial functions, but also include supporting events and informal learning. This role will involve coordinating and developing the current volunteer force, alongside paid staff roles, as well as initiating new volunteering teams for Front of House, schools workshops, community engagement, gardening and other opportunities. This post is key to planned organisational development of BCMT Staff and volunteers by providing support for personnel from different departments to explore good practice in the sector and apply this to their current roles.
