NODDY ROLLS INTO TOWN
FOR ENID BLYTON CELEBRATION WEEK
29th JUNE – 7th JULY
This weekend marks the beginning of a week of special events in Beaconsfield, celebrating 75 years since the world famous author moved to the town.
Celebrations kick off on Saturday 29th June when Noddy arrives at Bekonscot Model Village for a Special Noddy Weekend of family fun. There will be a full-sized working Noddy car (which will remain at Bekonscot throughout the following week), a themed treasure hunt, prizes, Enid Blyton bookstall and much more. Noddy himself will make an appearance at Bekonscot and there will also be another surprise visitor at the Grand Opening at 11am.
The National Film & Television School are hosting a Gala Film evening on Thursday 4th July, 7pm. There will be a reception with complimentary drinks before two films are shown. The first film looks at Blyton’s younger years and the second is the BBC biopic starring Helena Bonham Carter. Tickets available at the Beaconsfield Library or via the Beaconsfield Society website, suggested donation £10 to support the Enid Blyton Festival.
And finally to end the week of celebrations, Beaconsfield Library have a special children’s activity day on Saturday 6th July. There will be lots of activities throughout the day including:
10am – 11am: Creative Writing Workshop with Explore Learning
11:15 am – 12pm: Enid Blyton talk by Jacqui Hogan
2:15pm: Story time for under 5’s by Jan Moran Neil
3pm: Green Hedges Tea Party with lashings of lemonade and party food.
Be sure to get your invitation from the Library well before hand. Noddy’s famous car will also be at the Library in the afternoon.
