PlaceSarahandSaffySarah Cassidy, is the owner of Place Estate Agents, a boutique online estate agency.
Because of her job selling and letting properties in and around The Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross, Rickmansworth and Beaconsfield, Sarah has come to know these areas like the back of her hand.

She shares some of her favourite haunts with us.

For walking: Hodgemoor Woods, Burnham Beeches, The Aquadrome in Rickmansworth and Black Park, Slough.

Whenever I have a few moments to spare, I take myself and Place mascot Saffy (our cockapoo) for a walk. Nothing like a brisk walk in the open countryside to blow away the cobwebs.

For eating and drinking: At the end of the week, I like to unwind at The Black Horse Pub in Fulmer. They do yummy Sunday roasts and offer great service. I love the marmalade-braised pork belly with cabbage, potato and apple terrine. Closer to home (Chalfont St Peter) The Apple Tree in Gerrards Cross is another firm favourite for duckfast roasties on a Sunday.
I can’t go for too long without a curry – and my favourite curry haunt must be Maliks in Gerrards Cross – it’s cosy, elegant and the lamb Jalfrezi is to die for.

For coffee and koeksisters: I love meeting clients or catching my breath at The Cape Grand Café and Restaurant in Beaconsfield over a cappuccino and South African ‘koeksisters’ – a syrupy pastry completely out of this world.
The décor is eclectic and fun, the service very friendly, chatty and efficient and its location often puts it slap bang in the middle of my travails.

Favourite village: I live in Chalfont St Peter and love it to bits, but if I’m perfectly honest, I think Chalfont St Giles with its storybook high street and warm and friendly community is my favourite. (Don’t tell anyone!) Not to mention they have a great tennis club, where I am a member with a not bad backhand, if I have to say so myself.

Best hospital: I’ve recently recovered from breast cancer and as such I got to know the staff at The Chiltern Hospital very well and I can honestly say they are brilliant! I was in very capable hands.

Favourite beauty salon: Jose at Fake It in Chalfont St Peter trimmed my wigs and made me smile throughout my chemo.

Sarah Cassidy founded Place in 2009. After years of experience in estate agency, she understood that the way people shop for property was changing and she wanted to create a modern business model, using today’s technology, combined with exceptional standards of good old-fashioned customer service, plus lots of extras.

Contact Sarah if you’re thinking of selling your home or planning a move in The Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross, Rickmansworth and Beaconsfield.
