LOVE LOCAL WITH ANN CORRIGAN
Ann Corrigan is the founder of Clarity Family Law, family law solicitors in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. Ann set up her own specialist family law practice in 2011, initially in Chalfont St Giles before moving to Station Road, Gerrards Cross in November 2012. Here are some of Ann’s favourite local haunts.
Business lunch:
I’m lucky to be surrounded by a variety of excellent restaurants all just a stone’s throw from my office in Station Road. If I’m having a business or working lunch, I’ll more than likely pop into the local Italian Luna Rossa on Packhorse Road for a pasta Napolitana or stroll down to Jungs for a fresh salad or pastrami sandwich – you can usually find a quiet spot to do a bit of work.
Tea and cake:
Fego Caffé, although part of a chain, feels like an independent coffee shop. It’s always buzzing and the service is great, not to mention the chocolate cake. They also offer a networking breakfast and I intend to check this out soon.
I live in Chalfont St Giles, so on the weekend I like to read the papers over a breakfast at The Deli. It’s tiny but it packs a punch. It’s so popular that it’s about to start an evening bistro, and I’ll be one of the first to book a table!
Gerrards Cross Christmas Fayre:
I know – it’s too early, but I love Christmas and one of my favourite evenings of the year is the Gerrards Cross Christmas Fayre. I love the buzz and because my office is right in the heart of it all – I really get into the spirit and enjoy chatting to other business owners and customers.
Shopping:
Guidelines boutique in GX is good if I need a business outfit or party dress and can’t get into town. They’re always on trend without being too faddy. For present shopping I head to Bohemian Days – for something a bit different and stylish – I love their candles and scarves.
Queen Bee in Chalfont St Peter has lovely fresh flowers – and I love her shabby chic furniture – I might even be tempted to buy some chalk paint there and do up some of my old chairs.
A night out:
If I’m feeling super lazy, we pop into New Poons for a yummy Chinese stir-fry – as it’s right next door to us!
The George has an over 30s night once a month – with a live band and meal – which is a good local night out with friends. I also do like the odd pub quiz at The White Hart in Chalfont St Peter.
