True comfort food that all the family will love, with a quick shortcut for making a foolproof cheese sauce.

Serves 4

What you need:

250g macaroni (or any other pasta shape you have in the cupboard) 

250g mature cheddar cheese, grated

250ml evaporated milk

2 medium eggs

I pinch of fresh nutmeg


1. Preheat the oven to 220C. Meanwhile cook the pasta according to packet instructions, drain and then return the pasta to the pan.

2. Put the cheese, evaporated milk, eggs and nutmeg in a bowl a mix together.

3. Add the cheese sauce to the pasta, mix together and season with salt and pepper.

4. Transfer the pasta and cheese mix to a wide, shallow dish and bake for 10 – 15 mins.
