Home is….

Such a good question! My home is really wherever my family is – we have had several cross continental moves, city moves and house moves in the last few years and decided that the city and environment didn’t matter as long as we were all in the same place.  We’re finally settled again in Gerrards Cross and absolutely loving it.

Best meal you’ve had?

Several years ago we were on a family holiday in Maui, Hawaii.  My parents were also with us which afforded my husband and I a rare night out for dinner alone!  We had the best meal of freshly caught fish and topped off with possibly the best dessert I’ve ever tasted! Coconut cream pie! Absolutely divine.

What are you up to right now?

Sounds a bit like a cheeky question or something I’d ask my kids! 2018 is going to be an exciting year for my business and what I’m offering to clients.  First up, I’m launching my new website in January to make it easier for people to find out how to work with me and what workshops are coming up. This year I am also expanding my service offerings to include group programs a few nutrition challenges (5 day whole food challenge!) as well as private 1-1 healthy cooking lessons.  Most people have very good intentions around eating healthy and making good food selections, but are missing a few skills and tricks in the kitchen to make life easier.  I’m really excited to be bringing these new services to my clients.

Best piece of advise you’ve been given?

Over the years I feel like I’ve won the lottery with interesting people in my life to give me advice, so it’s tough to narrow down to just one.  Most recently, I had a fantastic partner on my tennis team when we lived in Vancouver who was also extremely accomplished in her professional career.  In one of our conversations she taught me the phrase and concept “Is this the hill I want to die on” – in other words, “is this situation/issue so critical to me I’m willing to lay it all down here and not go any farther.”  In the heat of the moment sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of this idea and jump in with both feet.  How many times have people (myself included) sent a fiery e-mail only to regret it the next day?

Who do you call when you want to have fun?

I suppose it depends what kind of fun I’m looking for J

Favourite places in the UK you’ve travelled to?

As Canadians who have transplanted to the UK, we adore traveling around and exploring the country.  A few of our favourite adventures have been ‘glamping’ at Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower Peninsula in Wales, a city exploring trip to Bath and an autumn half term break in the Lake District – so incredibly beautiful.

Favourite shops?

Does Amazon count as a shop? Just kidding – but in all seriousness that’ is where I do the vast majority of my shopping, including my whole foods like nuts, whole grains and vitamins.  My favourite physical shop is probably a tie between John Lewis and Sweaty Betty.

Last book you read?

“Love Warrior” by Glennon Doyle Melton, a memoir which should be required reading for every human on the plant.  Hugely raw, authentic and emotionally rich book – would definitely make my list of top 5 most impactful books of all time.

Biggest extravagance?

After close to ten years since my last one, twelve house moves, three kids and about 1700 sleep interrupted nights later, I had a Mommy-only tennis holiday with my BFF to Tenerife in October!  It felt like an extravagance of both time and finances, but was soul nurturing.  There is talk of trying to make this an annual getaway J
