This is a recipe that was passed down to me by my Finnish mother in law. It’s quick and easy to prepare and a great family meal.
Prep time: 5-10 mins
Cooking time: 60 mins
1kg beef mince
2 x bags of french onion soup
100-200ml of water (first 100ml then add as needed)
2 x eggs
2 x pressed garlic cloves (i used the easy garlic from a tube)
50-100ml of soya sauce
100ml of breadcrumbs (I used the dried bread crumbs from a packet)
1.Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (fan)
2. Mix together the onion soup, water, eggs, garlic, soya sauce and bread crumbs.
3. Add the mince in small quantities and mix together to form a paste (you can use a spoon or your hands if you dont mind getting them dirty). If the paste is too loose add more breadcrumbs an if too tick add some water.
4. Once mixed together put in an oven proof dish and shape into a meat loaf shape.
5. Put in the oven and cook for an hour.
