Event Details

Yoga and Ayurveda Workshop Sunday 20th May 10am-1pm at Cholesbury Village Hall, nr Chesham £30 “Ayurveda  - a conception of the healthy body as an entity in dynamic equilibrium that is permeable to environmental, social and cosmological forces.” Quote from Ayurvedic Man Exhibition at the Wellcome Collection.  Ayurveda is a wholistic system of well-being and which is based on looking at the individual and their dynamic equilibrium. In the workshop, we will identify individual constitutions and how to look at their equilibrium, as well as considering some of the environmental and social forces affecting well-being. One of the most appealing and practical ideas about Ayurveda is that by understanding ourself, we can maximise our health and well-being. For instance, what times of year or times of the day or activities suit me best? Is it possible to understand friends or family’s characters better through Ayurveda? Can I maintain a good health balance by understanding my individual constitution? We will be using Yoga practices at the beginning and end of the session, so about half of the workshop will be Yoga practice and the other half Ayurveda. Refreshments provided. Please email me barbaradancer@gmail.com if you’d like to learn more about this fascinating topic and come along to the workshop.
