Event Details

Celebrate Roald Dahl’s love of birds by making a hanging mobile of feathered friends.

For those of you looking for something a bit crafty to get stuck into! First you’ll find out more about the birds that Roald Dahl kept in his aviary, as well as some of the magnificent birds in his stories! Think of the Roly-Poly Bird from The Twits, the Swan from Billy and the Minpins, and the ducks in The Magic Finger. Then you'll create your very own hanging mobile featuring some of your new feathered friends. Use a variety of materials to decorate your creations to end up with a marvellous mobile to hang up at home.

Times: 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3.00pm

Cost: £3 per participant. Adults are welcome to pay to make their own. Price does not include Museum entry which you will also need to book to take part in the workshop.

Age: suitable for 5 years. Under 16s will need to be accompanied by an adult (no more than two non-participating adults will be allowed in the room per group). Participating children under 5 years will still need to pay.

Type of workshop: craft workshop - you might get messy! All materials will supplied.

Booking: you can book Museum entry and workshops online up until the day before (subject to availability). Workshop options will appear after selecting your Museum admission.
