Event Details

Now in it’s 5th year, Soapbox Derby 2019 promises to be the best race yet.

Are you looking for something fun, exciting, engaging – for both kids and grown-ups - that’s FREE to do this Father’s Day – Sunday 16th June – then look no further.

Join us for this exciting and thrilling event, open to everyone whether you have built a kart (pre-registered) or would like to come along as a spectator and enjoy the races and a host of other activities on offer including music with DJ Dan BlazeRide-on Little Tikes for the little ones, swing boats, circus skills, crafts, games and even a full on Drag Car from SantaPod racing.

The entire event really is FREE, so come along and enjoy a fun packed day.

Food and drinks are available on site, including a BBQ, The Works with their very popular ice-cream bike, The Coffee Stop, and a sweet stall, should you get hungry or thirsty. You are very welcome to bring your own picnic, should you wish.

We ask for our visitors help to decide who wins the Best Looking kart trophy – with voting taking place on the day. Trophies and medals will also be awarded for the fastest Junior and Senior drivers, as well as the Best Looking kart.

We advise you to park in the town centre car parks and walk the short distance to the venue, which is beside Whitehill Drs Surgery just off the Oxford Road.  Blue Badge parking is available at the event (approx. 5 spaces).

Please be aware that we will have photographers at the event whose pictures will be used for publicity. Should you not wish to be included in any of the pictures please advise the Event Crew at the Meeting Point.
