Watch Roman Gladiators battle this May Bank Holiday weekend! If you’re looking for a great educational half term day out for the family then come and see Roman Gladiators battle at Chiltern Open Air Museum! Watch provincial gladiators in action as a team of criminals, barbarians and other prisoners of war, disgraced soldiers and thrill seekers fight for the entertainment of the crowds and the Emperor. Who will live, and who will die: you decide! The gladiators will be brought to life by Britannia, one of the largest (and oldest) re-enactment groups in the U.K., they will be demonstrating the excitement and brutality of life in the late Roman period. Britannia have worked on over 150 TV and film projects, including Ridley Scott’s Gladiator and all five series of CBBC’s Horrible Histories.
  • Meet the costumed re-enactors and learn about life in Britain in the 1st century AD
  • Enjoy thrilling combat displays as Roman gladiators compete for the Emperor and the favour of the crowds
  • Buy your own replica Roman gladiator weapons in the shop
  • Be warned, there may be (fake) blood – not for those of a sensitive disposition!
Please be aware that all activities are subject to change and weather. Standard admission prices apply. Free entry for annual pass holders. Please note that Tesco Clubcard vouchers cannot be used on bank holiday Monday.
