Join us for a magical and exciting family evening event at the Museum – 4pm – 8.30pm (last admission 7.30pm). On Saturday 12th May, see the Enchanted Museum come to life as legendary creatures (including the beautiful winged Pegasus) appear at an exciting twilight event at Chiltern Open Air Museum. The Museum’s historic buildings will be lit up by candle, lantern and firelight for you to explore. This year’s theme is magical realms and you can take part in a number of activities and crafts inspired by traditional magical stories and fairytales. You are invited to toast marshmallows* by the campfire and participate in our Combat School and children can take part in the Lost Boys versus Pirates battle. All visitors, big and small, are invited to attend in costume and can enter the fancy dress competition. There will be a special enchanting walk through the woodlands, storytelling, face painting and magical map creating (WARNING:GLITTER). Visitors can spot Beatrix Potter characters in the allotment, see fictional small borrowing people in the Toll House and help Peter Pan find his shadow (watch out for pirates!). There will be a BBQ and refreshments available to purchase on the Village Green, including Pimms and locally produced Chilterns beer.   Additional Information There will be BBQ food, sandwiches, snacks, cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks available to purchase on the night. The Enchanted Museum event will still go ahead in all English weather! We regret that we cannot accept Tesco Clubcard vouchers or 2-for-1 vouchers for our Enchanted Museum event.
