Event Details

At the special Christmas event find out about how Christmas was celebrated in the past. See a selection of the Museum’s buildings decorated for Christmas as they would have been during the time period that they represent. The Victorian toll house will be decked with holly and ivy gathered from the woods and illuminated by candles and firelight, creating a warm, cosy festive flair that you would have encountered during Victorian times. The 1940s Prefab will show how people celebrated a restrained wartime Christmas enlivened by make-do-and-mend decorations.

Father Christmas* will be making his annual stop at the Museum and will greet visitors as he sits by the fire in Haddenham Cottage. Children (and adults) are invited to take part in Christmas crafts and activities.

The Museum will be joined by local folk musicians who will perform a mixture of festive, traditional and modern folk music. There will be a small number of stalls where you can purchase gifts and local handmade items courtesy of local craftspeople.

Standard admission prices apply. Free entry for annual pass holders.
