Cancellation Policy
Cancellation with the expectation of a refund or ticket transfer for a session must be made at least 7 days before the start of the booked-for session. This is to allow enough time for others on the waiting list to be given the opportunity to attend. A refund will be provided where someone in the household has tested positive for COVID 19 or showing symptoms and are waiting a test result. Proof of a positive test must be provided. Refunds will also be made in the event we cancel the session for example due to unsafe weather conditions.

Calling all budding musicians, local bands and aspiring poets – be part of Aylesbury’s Sunday Lunch Open Mic sessions this summer.
Local performers are invited to stage their talent outside at The Exchange (opposite the Odeon) in Aylesbury every month starting on Sunday 1 May.
If supporting local talent is more your thing, you can sit back, relax and be entertained each month throughout the summer, in one of the many eateries which surround the performance area.
Willing performers do not need to pre-register, just rock up on the day, add your name to the Open Mic board and perform music, poetry, readings or recitals.
Sessions are open for all to perform and can be enjoyed on the first Sunday of each month from 11am-2pm until 4 September at The Exchange, Aylesbury, HP20 1US.
The Mayor of Aylesbury, Cllr Anders Christensen, said: “I hope these sessions will inspire and encourage local people who may have never performed in public before to step forward and do so in a relaxed, informal environment.
“Whether you’re a solo artist, in a band, would like to read poem or an extract of a book, this is a chance to do so.”
Sunday Lunch Open Mic sessions are free to be part of and are supported by Aylesbury Town Council. Electro-acoustic instruments can be used through the PA.

Visit the Museum Gardens and chat to the Garden Team
In addition to our historical buildings, the Museum boasts a number of small traditional gardens. These gardens have been designed and planted to be as authentic as possible in regard to the buildings they surround. They are managed organically and are mostly looked after by museum volunteers.
Our gardens include a formal Arts and Crafts garden, a pretty cottage garden, and a ‘dig for victory’ allotment (next to the 1940s prefab), cherry, and apple orchards. The orchards have a collection of heritage varieties, some local to the Chilterns.
- There will be a Garden Walk and Plant Guide at 11.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 2.30pm
- Watch drawing and water colour painting in action
- Trails and activities for children
- Chat to the Garden Team and stewards about the gardens and work that the team are doing
- Chat to the team from Bucks Adult Learning about what you can get involved in

The Vikings have arrived and taken over a Saxon settlement at the museum!
At the small village of Ceadeles Funtan (The modern day Chalfonts –
meaning the chalk springs) a warband of Vikings have arrived and taken
over the village as a base of operations to raid further into Saxon
territory. They have ransacked the village, taken prisoners as Thralls
(Slaves) and are busy plotting their next move whilst making loose with
the food and drink they have pillaged from the Saxon villagers.
However unbeknownst to the Vikings, a Fyrd (or local militia ) of Saxons has been dispatched from Aegel’s burgh (The Saxon fortified settlement of Aylesbury) to deal with the situation. The Saxons arrive and demand the Vikings return to the Danelaw but emboldened by their success so far and their warlike bravado they refuse and fighting breaks out. As the two sides form shield walls the fate of the village hangs in the balance…Will the vicious Vikings succeed and continue to raid and pillage the area or will the Christian forces of Wessex overcome their heathen enemy and restore order to the land?
Get involved in games, music, storytelling and fun activities from the Viking age. Then join us to watch as the raid unfolds and see who wins in the battle between the Vicious Vikings and the Christian forces of Wessex.
This is a Premium Admission Event. Free entry for Annual Pass holders.

We are delighted this month, to invite visitors to learn about our own British wildlife and ecology. A group of visiting exhibitors will share their knowledge on a whole range of animals – some very “up close and personal” and the work they are involved in, to care for and champion wildlife and the habitats they need to survive. Learn how you can help our struggling wildlife by creating habitats in your garden or at school, to support them grow in numbers. Enjoy some animal based activities throughout the day.
A mini-market in the Mill car park, as we welcome back regular stallholders– please do continue to support small, local businesses and pick up some presents for yourself or others!
The Mill’s own exhibits and volunteers will entertain and delight visitors of all ages. Riverside Tea Room refreshments and picnic area alongside the River Evenlode. Well behaved dogs on lead are most welcome. Car Park free.

Tots Go Wild takes place on most Fridays during term time throughout the year. Morning sessions run from 10:00-11:30 and afternoon sessions run from 13:00-14:30. We stagger the release of our tickets in line with the start of each new school term.
We go ahead in all weathers - unless deemed unsafe - so please dress appropriately!
Meeting point: Black Pines Camp (behind the picnic area, Foxley Copse). Just follow the 'Tots Go Wild' signs anti-clockwise around the lake from the car park - it is about a 20 minute walk. Buggies are welcome!

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation with the expectation of a refund or ticket transfer for a session must be made at least 7 days before the start of the booked-for session. This is to allow enough time for others on the waiting list to be given the opportunity to attend. Unfortunately, refunds are not applicable for no shows, illness (with the exception of COVID 19) or not being able to attend. A refund will be provided where someone in the household has tested positive for COVID 19 or showing symptoms and are waiting a test result. Proof of a positive test must be provided. Refunds will also be made in the event we cancel the session for example due to unsafe weather conditions.
