What a great party venue! We recently had my 7 year olds birthday party at Nets Kingdom and it was a huge success. There is no party package available but we were able to book all the kids into the same timed session. The children are allowed on the nets for 2 hours which was a perfect amount of time for energetic 7 and 8 year olds. There are plenty of picnic tables available to use and we brought our own party food, picnic style. There is a free water station with cups for when the kids need a drink which was a great idea, we had brought extra drinks for the children but didn't need them. As Nets Kingdom has it's own fenced off area within Black Park it felt very safe and there was plenty of staff on hand. One point to note is, there needs to be 1 adult to every five children, but the adults can stay on the ground and it was fairly easy to see where the kids were through the nets. I would definitely recommend Nets Kingdom as a party venue. All the kids had a super time!

Over the bank holiday weekend we decided to make the most of the lovely weather and so we loaded the bikes onto the back of the car and headed to Black Park. Its a great place to ride bikes if you have little kids as its very safe. We got there for about 10.30am and when we left just after lunch the car park was heaving so i would recommend you get there early if it's a nice day/weekend as it does get busy. We parked just on the left when you enter the car park as there are loads of trails you can pick up from the car park. It's nice and flat and easy to get about. We cycled for a while and then headed to the playground and had out lunch there. The car park is £3.50 so remember change. A great park for cycling, walking, picnics and having lots of fun.

Black Park is lovely! It's the perfect place for a stroll and a scoot around the lake. The playground is really big with lots of thing to keep children of varying ages entertained. There is also a big open space which is great for picnics when it's warmer. The car park costs £2.50 / £3.50 (peak) for the day.

I love Black Park, it's such a beautiful place - you could easily spend a day there. I took the kids in the week and they had a great time. We went to the playground, which is definitely one of the best we've been to and then we headed to the visitor centre (right by the playground) to pick up a copy of the FREE 'I Spy Summer Challenge' - the kids had to be detectives searching for specific animals and plants in the park and they got points (according to the lady in the visitor centre there is a free challenge every season). We then walked around the lake and had a picnic on the grass by the set of where Cinderella is going to be filmed. There is a cafe which looks lovely but I prefer to take a picnic with me to keep costs down and also because my children are always hungry and want food all day long so it's easier to have snacks/lunch with me :)

Another cheap day out!

As an ofsted registered childminder finding things to do that will entertain the children in my care can be difficult as the children can range from 1 -12. Black Park is a great day out! £2.50-£3.00 for the car park(off/on peak) and then money for an ice cream! I always take a picnic and plenty to drink so that helps keep the spending down...although I have heard that the cafe is good. As well as the huge fenced off play area there are paths around the lake and through the woodland...plenty of space to run around and burn off that energy! I look after mainy boys at the moment and their favourite activity is den building when we go and it's great to see even the yougest children join in by helping to gather sticks or leaves or anything that they think will be used! :) The children also enjoy treasure hunts...pre-printed sheet with things to look out for...and can get quite competetive at it!
The park can be enjoyed at any time of the year...I went recently (Feb) with a two and a half year old all togged up in his coat, hat, scarf and boots and we went puddle jumping!! (well...he did...I just watched! )
