Ashley McCabe is the co-founder of Ooh La Label – a business selling no iron, no sew stick-on name labels that stay put in the washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher – such a great time saver for busy parents – they stick to everything from clothes to shoes, water bottles to iPads, musical instruments to sports stuff.

As Mum to three children, Ashley has some great ideas of places to keep your family happy this summer!

Cliveden walk and picnic
Cliveden2The kids love the maze, a walk by the river, a play in the playground and meeting friends for a picnic!
When the kids were little I found a national trust membership a MUST! We went to Stowe, Hughenden Manor, and Waddesson Manor as well and the cost for the entire family is so reasonable compared with anything else you can do. There are so many great days out and the National Trust also have great events for kids like Wild Wednesday. Website:

A day to Selfridges
SelfridgesFoodhallMay sound crazy but kids love a day here, especially if you have girls. We eat at Chipotle on Baker Street and then go to Selfridges to explore the food halls, make-up counters and toy department. There are a few ride on toys that my kids have been known to spend lots of time on. We always have the amazing frozen yogurt and macarons. The Braid Bar and Henna Bar are always favourites as my girls love having their hair done or a temporary tattoo. You can also go to the Nail Bar for a manicure! Website:

The Phoenix Trail from Princes Risborough to Thame
PhoenixTrailPreviously a railway line that ran to Oxford, this track is well maintained and suitable for all ages. The Phoenix Trail is always a favourite. We love walking and then getting an ice cream or some lunch afterwards in Thame. Website:

Denham Water Ski Club
DenhamWaterSkiWe love spending the day here if the sun is out. Even if you don’t want to participate, you can sit on the dock, overlooking the lake and watch the skiers. However, my kids love a session trying to ski or wakeboard and even just riding in the boat is fun. Website:

Beaconsfield Old Town Playground
We love meeting friends here. There is a zip-line and equipment for all ages. For boys, there is usually a football game going on! And the best thing, it’s totally free! Website:

David Lloyd Club
DL Beaconsfield Outdoor PoolAs a long time member of the David Lloyd Club I have recently joined all three children. We love spending family time here as they have an outdoor/indoor pool, restaurant, tennis courts, crèche and kids exercise and art classes. Website:
