6.00pm till late

Christmas is coming early to Old Amersham with a Christmas late night shopping event taking place on 4th December. From 6pm the Christmas lights will be switched on around the Old Town and at 6.15pm the beautiful Christmas Tree will be illuminated. The Christmas lights will ensure that Old Amersham looks quite Magical.

There will be a Santa’s Grotto with real reindeer and a free skating rink on Market Square. There will be plenty of activities up and down the High Street, The Broadway and Whielden Street to keep children (young and old!) entertained.

Whilst shoppers can browse the shops that will stay open until late, there will be several local choirs and singing groups dotted around the old town. The stores taking part will be offering drinks and nibbles to tempt the shoppers in, as well as having a few special offers available to customers on the night. There are a few added extras yet to be announced, however the Dovecote car park (situated off The Broadway just before Tesco’s) will have free parking in the old town all day Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December so shoppers and visitors can enjoy and make the most of the shops, pubs and restaurants.

Su Chases (owner of Su Chases Interiors on the High Street) said “The whole retail experience in Old Amersham is an absolute joy. The Old Town, with its Georgian architecture, and mixture of retail, restaurants, pubs, cafes, hotels, a museum and attractive buildings provides a visual delight before you even start. The diverse mix of independent outlets interspersed with well known retail chains offers shoppers such an amazing choice”
