Easter holidays are in full swing and with the promising weather forecast there are so many local family activities to enjoy!
Nothing says it’s Easter like a National Trust Easter Trail and with so many magnificent locations on our doorstep or just a short drive away, you’re spoilt for choice. Stowe’s Easter trail runs 15 – 24 April, booking not needed, Cliveden has a family friendly trail with fun activities along the way, 9 – 24 April and Waddesdon Manor’s nature inspired trail runs 13 – 24 April. National Trust locations can be very busy during the holidays to make sure you check their social media page before you set out.
Chiltern Open Air Museum have a wonderful Easter Weekend planned. Visit from 15 – 18 April and learn about Easter traditions, explore the historic buildings, take part in the Famous Bunnies Easter Trail, have a go at some family crafts and see the baby lambs!
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre have an Easter transport Festival running 17th & 18th April. The festival will be celebrating everything about heritage transport, with full size and miniature steam trains with passenger rides, working fire engine demonstrations, vintage vehicles and a children’s Easter Egg Hunt, plus lots more!
Old Amersham Artisan Food and Drink Market launches on Sunday 17th April. There will be a spectacular array of local produce found in and around the Chilterns. Pop along to The Broadway Old Amersham 10am – 3pm, to enjoy the best local food and drink and show your support for this new venture. Don’t worry if you can’t make it along to the market this time, the market will return on the third Sunday of every month.
Easter at Bekonscot is a fun-packed day out for little ones. Take part in the bunny hunt to win a chocolatey prize, have fun with traditional fairground games, plus entertainment from the eight foot tall Professor Crump!
The Great Missenden Food Festival is this weekend 15-18 April – where you can grab a free place in the kids and adults workshops, demos and Chef’s Table plus you can discover lots of independent local producers. Visit greatmissendenfoodfestival.co.uk to book your tickets and workshop places.
A little further away but worth the journey is Blenheim Palace with a fun packed Easter weekend planned. There’s the all important Easter Egg hunt and win a Hotel Chocolat Treat, plus lots of fun activities including circus skills, bubble performances, Punch and Judy, mini golf and special appearances from the Easter Bunny throughout the weekend. You can also book a Hotel Chocolat Children’s Workshop for any budding chocolatiers!
Go on a supersized Easter adventure at RHS Wisley. Follow the trail and hunt for the giant painted eggs hidden around the garden and collect a chocolate treat at the end, plus try out the fun family planting and craft activities. Egg hunt and activities included with garden admission, Free to RHS members and children under 5.
Little ones will enjoy an outdoor adventure at Odds Farm Park this Easter. Meet their new baby animals – from fluffy lambs to tiny piglets…guaranteed cuteness! There’s a wide range of daily farmer-led activities, Spring-themed arts and crafts and don’t forget an egg-citing Egg hunt.
