World Book Day Party
Thursday 6 March 3.30pm to 5pm
Free entry and activities
On Thursday 6 March The Roald Dahl Museum are inviting local children to come to a party at the Museum to celebrate World Book Day, dressed (if they want to) as their favourite book characters. They will be awarding prizes for the best costumes.
This year, to mark the 50th anniversary of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, there’s a special competition featured on the World Book Day vouchers, distributed via schools throughout the UK. Five lucky children will win Golden Tickets for a family VIP trip to the hit stage musical of Charlie at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Entry to the Museum will be free and children will be able to exchange their £1 World Book Day vouchers in the Shop for a choice of books specially published for the occasion. The vouchers can also be used for a £1 discount on any book purchase from the Shop. Party guests will be able to join in with free games, storytelling and craft activities and Café Twit will be offering a selection of tempting goodies.
As part of the extended World Book Day weekend, The Roald Dahl Museum are delighted to welcome Martin Brown, the Horrible Histories illustrator, who will be running workshop sessions at the Museum on Saturday 8 March.
