Love this garden centre

A friend recommended Smiths to me some time ago and I finally got to go there recently when I needed some bedding plants. I was blown away but the plant selection and the staff were extremely helpful. The quality of the plants I bought was fantastic and some of them are very reasonable if you are buying in bulk (pansies, petunias, begonias etc). They were all really healthy and have thrived since I planted them out at home. The service is excellent too - when I enquired about where to get potting compost I was told to order it at the till and someone would bring it to my car for me :) They had 10% off their Weber BBQ range so went back a few days later to get one. A very friendly staff member talked me through all the accessories and even gave me a few receipe ideas that she'd picked up on a Weber training course she had attended. The BBQ was cheaper than John Lewis and the selection of colours was better. Their garden furniture range looks great too and the loyalty scheme gives you £5 off for every £100 you spend so definitely worth getting if you become a regular.

One of the best local garden centres

I really like this garden centre as they have a really good selection of plants and whenever I've been and asked for help the staff have been very knowledgable. I think that there prices seem reasonable compared to other local places - but if there is somewhere cheaper & with a better selection of plants please let me know ;) They have a loyalty scheme but not exactly sure how it works as haven't redeemed my points yet. There is a smallish cafe which is ok, we had a coffee in there. It would be ok to take the kids for a quick drink and a biscuit but nothing to keep them entertained. They have a selection of stone ornaments (if you're into that kind of thing :)) and some sheds etc. Worth going if you like gardening.
