We caught up with local mum Carolyn, who recently took her family to the Bucks Goat Centre in Stoke Manderville. Here’s what she thought:
This open farm in Stoke Mandeville is a great place to while away a few hours with the kids!
I took my three today, checked their website for events and timed it with the ‘Bunny Brunch’. Friendly staff member, Tegan, was fabulous and shared lots of insights and stories about their animals…One of their goats was off filming at Pinewood! 🙂
As well as goats, the farm is also home to llamas, alpacas, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits (including ‘French Lops’, the largest breed I’ve ever seen!), ducks and geese, some cheeky ferrets, and not forgetting Basil the Shetland pony. Who doesn’t love a Shetland pony?!
There’s a beautiful butterfly garden, a summer house with colouring in and toys, and a small play area to burn off some steam. And of course the obligatory shop, cafe and picnic area. We grabbed bags of feed at the ticket desk and the kids loved getting up close to and learning about the different animals.
Tickets are very reasonable versus some of the larger farms in the area. Childminders might also be interested in their Wednesday term-time deal where kids go free.
