Why do children need yoga?

Children today live in a busy world full of school pressures, technology, social media, competitive sports etc. The bustling pace of their lives can have profound effects on their innate joy. Yoga helps to counter these pressures. Physically, it enhances strength, flexibility, balance and coordination and allows for a positive body image to develop. Mentally it improves concentration, increases resilience and instils calmness connecting their minds and bodies. By learning techniques to relax, children can take care of their health, foster self-love and learn to navigate life’s challenges with more ease.

What do classes look like?

Each class will begin with breathing exercises, followed by a sequence of postures, ending with a deep guided relaxation period. Classes will be themed, e.g. self-love, reducing worries, improved sleep, and be practised to calming music with incense.
