This week we met up with friend for lunch at The Waffle House in St Albans, which is located next to the park– the kids loved it! The Waffle House is a family business since 1978, serving savoury and sweet Belgian waffles, freshly cooked to order with many organic and free-range ingredients. They also cater for people with food intolerances including gluten free pancakes, plus if you don’t fancy a waffle (you’re missing out ;)) you can have rice or salad instead. They don’t have a specific kids menu, but many of the waffles you can get in kids size portions – the waffle if the same size but you get less top and they are a 1/3 cheaper.

You can’t prebook so I would recommend arriving early, let the kids run around in the park to burn off some energy and then heading over to the Waffle House to refuel. We did have to queue, but as the venue is so big we didn’t have to wait long. For more info about the Waffle House click here.

We parked at the Verulamium Museum Car Park which cost a very reasonable £1.70 for up to 3 hours or £3.80 for up to 24 hours. For more info about parking click here.
