Saturday 28th September 10am-12.30pm. £55 per ticket making 5 litres.
For anyone who has always fancied making their own home-brew, this is a workshop you won’t want to miss. Local cider making experts Simon and Graham will take you through the basics of home brewing as well as sharing their extensive top tips and learnings… from how to store during the fermenting process to how to know when your seasonal solution is ready for drinking! The day will include smashing the apples, pressing them and distributing the juice between everybody ready to take home for the brewing process to continue.
If you are new to home-brewing, we will also supply a ‘kit’ containing a 5-litre glass cider demi-john, with an airlock and bung which will be needed for the fermenting process. The £55 cost covers 5 litres of the juice made on the day, which is then fermented at home to turn it into cider. One ticket (making 5 litres) can be shared between a group of up to 3 people.
We will have some local apples for you to use but any you find or have yourself will make the process even more rewarding.
If you are also interested in also joining the Build a Wood-Fired Outdoor Cob Oven workshop on Saturday 28th and Sunday the 29th, then we have a reduced price of £125 the oven building workshop (instead of £170) as you will be missing a couple of hours in the morning while you are making cider, but don’t worry you will soon catch up.
