Loved it - the next stage after Legoland
We went here on a Friday at the end of September as there was a school inset day so it was really quiet. We had a brilliant day out, a big part of this, was because it was so quiet as everyone else was at school. Having said that, I do think it would still be a great day out even if it was busy. This is definitely the next stage after Legoland. My children are 9,8 and 5 and I found Chessington had something for all of them whereas Legoland is definitely more suited to my youngest. We have a Merlin pass (free using our Tesco vouchers - definitely worth looking into if you shop at Tesco) but the friends that we went with prebooked their tickets and paid £27.60 per ticket which is not too bad. We started by visiting the SeaLife Centre which the children loved and then explored the many rides of Chessington. One of my favourite rides was the Zufari ride into Africa where we saw White Rhino, Giraffes and Zebras. Other rides we loved included the Monkey Swinger, Dragon Falls, Tomb Blaster, Tuk Tuk Turmoil and Dragon Fury. I would highly recommend this as a day out. We were very lucky when we went as we literally walked into rides. If I was going again I would probably plan our route around the park better to beat the crowds.
Also definitely worth knowing that Chessington also offer a rainy day guarantee - If it rains continually for an hour or more during your visit, they'll give you a free day ticket for a return visit later in the year.
